About the program
The University of Johannesburg Business School, in partnership with Google.org, is launching a groundbreaking cybersecurity program aimed at addressing South Africa’s urgent skills gap. This initiative will train unemployed graduates and matriculants from underserved provinces, equipping them with essential cybersecurity skills. These students will then support 125 local small businesses, enhancing their cybersecurity awareness and protection. This program not only improves youth employability but also strengthens South Africa’s digital security landscape and economic resilience.
We are thrilled to announce that the University of Johannesburg Business School, under the Centre for Entrepreneurship, has been awarded a grant by Google.org to host South Africa’s first Google Cybersecurity Seminar. This opportunity aligns with our mission to tackle the country’s critical cybersecurity skills shortage, providing transformative learning experiences for unemployed graduates and matriculants from underserved provinces. We look forward to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and enhancing the digital security of local enterprises.
