The US Department of Justice has announced charges against Park Jin Hyok for conspiracy in relation to cyber attacks. The DOJ alleges Park is a member of the ‘Lazarus Group’ and took part in the Sony email hacks, the WannaCry ransomware attacks, and the Bangladesh Bank ‘cyber heist’. Park, a North Korean national, was officially charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit computer fraud and abuse and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
