Sébastien Vachon-Desjardins had been arrested at his home in January 2021. He was one of the most prolific cyberpirates in his criminal network, now dismantled. In the U.S. alone, he was linked to dozens of attacks that netted the equivalent of around US$21.5 million in bitcoins, or over CAD$29 million. He has also claimed 17 victims in Canada, including the Cégep Saint-Félicien and the City of Montmagny. Losses also amounted to several million dollars.
