A 35-year-old Ukrainian national, Artem Stryzhak, was arrested in Spain in June 2024 and extradited to the United States on May 1, 2025, for allegedly helping run the Nefilim ransomware operation. Prosecutors say he participated in extorting multiple companies across the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland from 2018 to 2021, using the Nefilim ransomware and sharing in the group’s profits.
