BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware negotiator pleads guilty

Event Details

Angelo Martino, who worked as a ransomware negotiator, was sentenced to 70 months in prison in the United States. The Department of Justice states that Martino was paid by BlackCat for confidential information on negotiating strategy of the company he worked for in order for the ransomware group to maximize their leverage. It is alleged that the ransom affiliates with whom Martino conspired were paid $75.3 million.
