Russian authorities have arrested 50 members of the Lurk cybercriminal group. The group used the Lurk Trojan to commit bank fraud, utilizing the Angler exploit kit to distribute the trojan. While the group is not thought to have conducted ransomware attacks themselves, other groups used the Angler exploit to do so. After the arrest of the Lurk group, use of the Angler exploit has seemingly stopped.
