Meet the 2026 European Cybersecurity PhD Accelerator Cohort

Virtual Routes is pleased to welcome the 30 scholars selected for the 2026 European Cybersecurity PhD Accelerator.

The scholars come from institutions across Europe. Their research spans the technical, legal, policy and economic dimensions of cybersecurity, with many working across several of these areas. 

Participants will take part in virtual sessions on professional development and communicating their research to policy and non-specialist audiences. They will also meet in Maastricht, the Netherlands, for an in-person retreat in November where they will discuss their work and exchange perspectives.

Virtual Routes at the OSCE Cyber/ICT Security Study Visit in Switzerland

In early October, Virtual Routes Co-Directors James Shires and Max Smeets contributed to a Study Visit on Cyber/ICT Security for National CBM 8 Points of Contact organised by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which took place in Zug and Zurich, Switzerland. The study visit brought together the national Points of Contact who serve as the OSCE's network for cyber/ICT confidence-building measures (CBMs).
