Funding

Virtual Routes receives funding for its activities from multiple sources, including companies, governments, international organizations, and charitable foundations. All funders are regularly reviewed by Virtual Routes for their alignment with our principles and goals, conflicts of interest, ethical concerns and other risks. Virtual Routes activities and outputs are always independent of our funders.

All funding is received and managed by one of our two non-profit legal entities, Virtual Routes Community and Virtual Routes Incubator CIC (find out more). Seed funding for Virtual Routes Community (as the European Cyber Conflict Initiative, in 2020) came from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
