Sara Qoshi

2025-2026 European Cybersecurity Fellow

Sara Qoshi is a 2025-2026 Virtual Routes European Cybersecurity Fellow. She is a cybersecurity expert with over five years of experience in the field. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics and a Master of Science in Information Security. Currently, she serves as the Head of the Cyber Defence, Managing and Incident Response Sector, leading efforts to safeguard digital infrastructures and respond to cyber threats. Under her leadership, the defence team has successfully managed numerous cyber incidents and various attempted cyber-attacks, strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity posture and resilience.

In addition to her technical expertise, she has actively contributed to cyber awareness campaigns and trainings, promoting security best practices and digital resilience. She has also been part of prestigious fellowships, including DCAF Young Faces 2022 by the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) and HERCyberTrack 2024 from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under its Cyber Policy and Diplomacy Program. Through these programs, she has gained extensive knowledge in cyber governance, international security, and digital diplomacy, strengthening her ability to bridge cybersecurity defense with global policy discussions. Additionally, she has actively participated in workshops organized by the Institute for Security Governance (ISG) and the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU), further enhancing her expertise in cybersecurity strategy, defense cooperation, and security governance.

As a strong advocate for women in cybersecurity, Sara is committed to inspiring and empowering more women to pursue careers in the field. She believes that diversity is essential in cybersecurity, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the industry’s toughest challenges. Her journey proves that with passion, persistence, and continuous learning, women can lead and excel in cybersecurity, breaking barriers and shaping the future of digital security.

On top of all this, Sara is also a proud mom to a two-year-old toddler, which has given her a whole new perspective on resilience. She firmly believes that if you can survive toddler tantrums, nothing is impossible—including handling cyber incidents under pressure!
