A 47-year-old man was arrested by Poland’s Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime (CBZC) for alleged cybercrimes. According to the police, they found evidence of cybercriminal activity in his home and the man “used encrypted messaging to contact the Phobos criminal group, known for conducting ransomware attacks.” The arrest is linked to Europol’s Operation Aether which targets the Phobos ransomware group. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
