About the program

Through this program, we are empowering 100 students from Transilvania University of Brașov and West University of Timișoara to provide cybersecurity services to 125 local community organizations. The first phase focuses on cybersecurity education, covering topics such as awareness, threat detection, network security, ethical hacking, SOC operations, and security auditing. The course content, hands-on labs, and hackathons are tailored to the services students will deliver during their internships—the second phase of the program. During this phase, students will receive scholarships to work on real-world challenges. In addition to gaining practical experience, students will actively contribute to the security and well-being of their communities.

“We are thrilled that Transilvania University has been selected to participate in this program, marking a significant step forward in our mission to advance innovative cybersecurity research and education. This program offers a valuable opportunity for the university to engage with the local community, assisting under-resourced organizations in strengthening their defenses against cybersecurity threats. For our students, it presents an exceptional chance to access cutting-edge cybersecurity tools, work on real-world projects, and gain hands-on experience. The grant not only reinforces our commitment to tackling today’s pressing cybersecurity challenges but also initiates a promising collaboration with Google.”
