On May 17, YuYing Mak, Project Officer at Virtual Routes, attended the inaugural session of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma’s (UCBM) Google.org Cybersecurity Seminars in Rome, Italy.
The day opened with remarks from YuYing, alongside Andrea Rossi, Amministratore Delegato of UCBM, and Cristiano Dionisi, President of Piccola Industria at Unindustria. All three shared their reflections on innovation, collaboration, and the need for cross-sector coordination in the face of growing cyber threats. The morning session also featured a presentation by Marco Valerio Cervellini, Advisor at the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), who provided valuable insight into the national cybersecurity strategy, the agency’s evolution, and its vision for the future. Corrado Giustozzi, Professor at UCBM, followed with a lecture offering deep expertise and setting a strong foundation for the seminar series moving forward.
The program participants were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, and it was clear that each brought a unique perspective and strong motivation to the program. UCBM’s program is headed by Faculty Champion, Roberto Setola, and EDI champion, Rossella Ferreri, as well as Luca Faramondi and Giulia Romagnoli.
UCBM organised a day full of insight, engaging conversations, and thought-provoking discussions on the future of cybersecurity and Italy’s evolving role within it. We are pleased to have had the chance to be included in this inaugural session of what promises to be an impactful and far-reaching program.
