Toch is het zeker geen \u2018Wild West\u2019, verstoken van regels, normen en standaarden. Zowel v\u00f3\u00f3r als na staatsregulering werken rivaliserende laboratoria vaak samen op het gebied van \u2018particuliere\u2019 governance. Deze activiteit heeft potentieel aanzienlijke, maar nog onvoldoende onderzochte implicaties voor de veiligheid, de markten en de nationale en internationale regelgeving.
