As artificial intelligence reshapes economies and societies, who gets to set the rules? Drawing on her book The Tech Coup and her experience in the European Parliament and at Stanford, Marietje Schaake examines how Big Tech’s growing power challenges democratic oversight and what Europe can do about it. She explores how Europe can support innovation, reduce technological dependencies and protect fundamental rights, while helping shape an AI future that serves the public interest. The talk will be moderated by James Shires, Co-Director of Virtual Routes.
