US treasury sanctions two bitcoin adresses

The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control placed two bitcoin addresses on its sanctions list for the first time in history. The accounts belonged to Ali Khorashadizadeh and Mohammad Ghorbaniyan, two Iran-based individuals, “who helped exchange digital currency (bitcoin) ransom payments into Iranian rial on behalf of Iranian malicious cyber actors involved with the SamSam ransomware scheme”
